Jewish history spans nearly 6,000 years, beginning with the Creation, approximately 4,000 years before the common era. It continues through the eras of the patriarchs, the Egyptian bondage, the Judges, the First Temple era (when the kings of Judah and Israel ruled), the Babylonian exile, and the Second Temple Era, which concluded with our being taken into exile yet again by the Romans. Throughout, Torah study and our faith in G‑d and His promise of Redemption were our constant companions, providing the Jewish people with a Divine compass through every challenge and change.
