- “Archaeology in the Time of Jesus – How Recent Discoveries Have Enlightened The Gospels” by Dr. Jodi Magness. Presented and viewed March 2024.
- Simply Jesus by Dr. N.T. Wright on Admirato. Viewed March 2024.
- St. Paul on Cyprus: Archaeology and the Transformation of an Apostle by Dr. Thomas Davis. A one-hour lecture presented by BAS. Password 1593. The Intro – Recent archaeological work on Cyprus allows a much better understanding of the context of the Pauline visit underscoring the cultural accuracy of the Acts account. A clearer picture of first century Cyprus is emerging, as a complex multi-cultural entity looking both east and west. When Paul arrived in Paphos, he had left his familiar environment and was open to new opportunities. These internal cultural divisions of the province help explain the change of Saul, the apostle to the Jews, to Paul the apostle to the Gentiles.
- Introduction to the Old Testament (Hebrew Bible) – Completed Nov/Dec 2024 by Christine Hayes, Sterling Professor of Religious Studies in Classical Judaica, Published: Fall 2008 —This course provides a historical study of the origins of Christianity by analyzing the literature of the earliest Christian movements in historical context, concentrating on the New Testament. Although theological themes will occupy much of our attention, the course does not attempt a theological appropriation of the New Testament as scripture. Rather, the importance of the New Testament and other early Christian documents as ancient literature and as sources for historical study will be emphasized. A central organizing theme of the course will focus on the differences within early Christianity (-ies). Lecture 14 is about the single monarchy and the divided monarchy that we enjoyed. Available on Open Yale Courses and YouTube. Duration 13 weeks (24 hours); Fees None
- Conversational Courses at Yale Divinity School
